Changing African Cities

18th March 2021 | Online Conference

Speaking about my work researching, documenting, creating and archiving architecture in Ghana

About The Conference and Panel

The urban landscape of cities in sub-Saharan Africa is undergoing rapid and profound transformations. Contemporary buildings upset the traditional architecture and the colonial vestiges of the metropolises, reshaping the way of life of the inhabitants. At the same time, informal structures are developing, like so many alternative solutions. A new generation of architects questions Western construction models and wants to give residents back control of their urban space. Dialogue between the architects Sénamé Koffi Agbodjinou and Kuukuwa Manful and moderated by Marie-France Réveillard.

The conversation will be broadcast live on the Youtube page and the Facebook page of the Paris libraries.
